When Paul dropped in a link to potential links to Tarek Skubal today in our Baseball for Ideas group chat, my first thought was, Don't tempt me with a good time because that good time is never going to happen.

I absolutely believe the Cubs would love to get Tarek Skubal and will throw something the Tigers way.

Yeah, and at the end of the day, I think last season is a perfect example of what the Cubs will do this season, is they're not going to go crazy and make a crazy offer for a guy who's not under team control, which Tariq Scouble isn't.

under previous regimes they've been bafflingly reluctant to do but that very much puts the likes of jose soriano and uh and oh my god i've forgotten the other good angels pictures name help me out jack

yeah read that must yeah yeah because it very much puts soriano and that was um not necessarily actively on the block, but they are available with a capital A.

And they've, you know, Soriano looked like he was breaking out at the start of this year.

Detmers looks really good a lot of the time, but maybe one or two little tweaks.

And, you know, famously, the Cubs have the best defense in Major League Baseball.

That, I think, is a pool that the Cubs are going to try and fish in, I think, in the next few days.
