So for context, broad strokes of it, the Cubs are second in the National League Central Division.

They have 54 and 42 record and they've had a point a million injuries and PCA is the best player in baseball

is that good broad strokes for you that's good broad strokes I would also say that no one month has been like the next month so for three consecutive I think calendar month not calendar month but like consecutive from like the 15th to the 15th or whatever The Cubs were the best team in baseball for a month, then the worst team in baseball for a month, and then the best team in baseball for a month.

Like in theory, and you say you lay out the record and the Cubs have got what is essentially just a reasonably good normal record.

They've either played like a 40 and 80 team or they've played like a 80 and 30 team.

But it's the context of how it's happened and how... miraculous it feels that they're 12 games over 500

which is scary but if you'd said 12 games over 500 and PCA has gone up a level from last year I would be delighted and I would be I'd be thinking sick okay big trade deadline uh you know coming to the playoffs with momentum obviously and irritatingly the brewers are good again so there's i think a pretty small chance at this point of uh of getting a buy which even the the cubs have kind of continually said whether or not we're in it's not whether or not we're in a position to make the playoffs or be a good team in the playoffs it's being in a position to actually get the buy past the world card round is enormous.

Both in terms of what you can do and what the club is willing to do at the deadline.

uh yes which yeah which and again it's one of those which like yeah we're in a pretty good position but it feels like it feels like it could all kind of go away at any moment and i think the front officer and i you know i don't want to i don't want to predict what the cubs front office does because that's a fool's game but it feels like they're operating with that same nervousness.
