What's interesting to me about the music of Teenage Jesus is that the more somebody knows music, the less likely they are to be able to do it because there are tricks in there, which only somebody who has written PhDs about my guitars really get a grip.

I remember having to teach Tim doll, a genius in music to reduce himself to monkey status, to play a drum, a drum, a snare.

But anyway, I mean, at the same time I had a band Beirut slump, which I think it was their world that described it as like a slug crawling over a razor blade.

And then simultaneously a band that sounded like, which I was only the writer of and the guitar player, which sounded like a slug crawling over a razor blade, Beirut slump, or the original horror core.

So I'm going from fascistic, really tight, brutal, with slide guitar to hardcore to big band all within the space of, I guess, three years.

Who could understand how I could go from Teenage Jesus to Beirut's 8-Eyed Spy, Rock Mama to Queen of Siam, which not many people could, hence my lack of popularity.
