Hold My Trident - A Seattle Mariners Podcast
Jul 27, 2026 · 16 min · 12 segments
The Seattle Mariners finally stop the bleeding with a much-needed win over the Texas Rangers, but the bigger question remains: **Should Jerry Dipoto BUY or SELL at the MLB Trade Deadline?** In thisâŠ
Yeah, this one felt good.
However, after losing those first two games at such a crucial time of the year, this is, you know, I said it before.
This was off air with a couple of my buddies, but I said it before this series had started.
This is probably one of the most important series of the year because if you don't have the momentum that you need going into the trade deadline, especially in division and everything, and then you got the Dodgers after this, it's going to be telling on which side of the fence Jerry may be leaning on.
I think he's, coined another term previously back in the 2019-2020 era with shipping off Deke Gordon, Robinson Cano, everybody else.
So I wouldn't put it past him to, you know, if we were to lose all four games of this Texas Rangers series and then also lose three straight to the Dodgers, Well, that's the year in a nutshell.
And so I don't know exactly how we're going to go into this trade deadline.
I still think that there's a chance that we see kind of a tit-for-tat type of trade deadline from Jerry where it's a Kendall Graveman for Abraham Toro.
I mentioned that on a few other podcasts with some buddies, but that's kind of where this is going.
If we're middling, even if we're in first place, he's probably not going to want to give up the farm and he still wants to be competitive.
We find ourselves in that perpetual mediocre standpoint that we've known and come to hate for so many decades.
And I'm very curious on what's going through Jerry and company's mind as we approach this trade deadline.
