Dee Strange-Gordon

The Marlins, of course, broke up that core in a fire sale, trading Yelich to the Milwaukee Brewers, where he won an MVP in 2018, and today is the unquestioned leader of the team that for the second consecutive season is primed to lead Major League Baseball in wins.

Dee Strange-Gordon is the owner and operator of Black Sheep Farms, a Fort Meade, Florida-based outfit that specializes in hydroponic lettuce while also offering youth baseball and basketball programs.

Before his ranching career, Strange-Gordon spent 11 seasons in MLB.

He was traded from the Dodgers to the Marlins in 2015 when he won a National League batting title and forged a deep relationship with José Fernández.

Is it when

Dee Gordon changed his last name to Dee Gordon Strange? I think so.

I think that's the same guy.

Dee Gordon's

playing quarterback? Yeah, I think so.

You know, like the tensions boiled over and you had a little clubhouse brawl and, you know, they're pushing and shoving and all this good stuff.

But really, what he does offensively, he's hitting well right now, but his speed just puts pressure on the defense to make plays.

And it reminds me of guys that, even when the Giants had really good infield defenses, they struggled with guys like Dee Gordon and a few other guys who... who put speed uh who put pressure on the play with speed and i think jonah cox is similar in that regard that he doesn't have to you know hit the ball square you know on the barrel or anything like that if he puts the ball in play he's got he's gonna make defenses work a little bit they're gonna have to be a little quicker and and uh we're seeing that play out right now and then of course there's a stone base uh ability you know he's he's an elite base runner or uh he's an elite runner in terms of sprint speed, but he's also a smart base runner.

And I think when you put those two together, you get a high-volume base dealer that the Giants really haven't had in decades.

I think since 2000, only one player has stolen over 30 bases in a Giants uniform.
