Dominic Canzone

You know, they like came into the year writing off the high of 2025, just like we were.

And like, they were frustrated as they were merely competent and like, many of the guys you lean on were performing poorly and then like as things started to fall apart like that can spiral i mean the like the psychological side of the game is much harder to quantify and so one hesitates to like speculate on it too much but it's real it's like absolutely a thing and i i would be surprised if they aren't just like as over it as we are at this point And it's not shocking to me that some of the people who've been better lately through this have been, like, the Cole Youngs and Dominic Canzones of the world that are still, you know, really playing for themselves with their, like, getting their first real extended shot.

And the Randy Rosarena who's, like, trying to get a new contract.

And, you know, maybe the Josh Nailers and the Cal Rollies and the Logan Gilberts and the George Kirby's of the world are a little, like, Can't wait for this to be over.

Not getting into that.

Dominic Canzone and Ryan Feltner are MLB stars right now.

I think our teammate Mack Robinson would want us to say he's an Ignatius alum, but I don't know what class he's from.

I don't, you know, hey.

So there are spots that can be occupied if we're assuming Randy's not coming back.

And then I don't know how they handle right field with Rayleigh and Canzone and Robles and maybe Donovan if they go grab a...

Natural third baseman.

So, yeah, there's some guys and certainly bullpen guys as well that are trying to play for a job here.

But you do now have a quartet of guys that'll be able to give you at least 20 home runs this season.

Dom Canzone, Cal Raleigh, Randy Arozarena, along with Julio Rodriguez.

For Rodriguez, the batting average just has not been there this year along with Cal Raleigh.

But hey, Arozarena's up to about a 370 on base.

Then basically everybody, if they weren't Randy Rosarena, they had a fastball right down the middle that they took advantage of.

Dom Canzone in a one-two count gets a forcing fastball right down the middle, RBI single.

Then Cal Raleigh gets a forcing fastball right down the middle and hits a single and leaves Julio Rodriguez in a big, big spot, which he has not done much of anything with as of late.

And, unfortunately, Rodriguez does not get a four-seam fastball down the middle, but he gets a sinker, which was a pitch that he was really, really struggling with.

Um, even Canzone's been hitting...

He's been starting and hitting lefties pretty well.

And then, yeah, um, that's who I thought of, too.

Just a couple of bits of Peyton Tolley gold on the socials, hugging it out with Dominic Canzone on the first baseline for a put out and then fell over delivering a pitch and in so doing just did a random push up and then got back up.

He meant to do it all along.

So I think this call of him being a national treasure is starting to hold true.
