So a man was struck by an ICE officer during a pursuit over the weekend in northwest Houston.

The man, identified as 48-year-old Miguel Barra Hernandez, is in ICE custody but had to be treated for a possible broken leg.

Customs enforcement claims he ran in front of their vehicle during a pursuit and does not have legal status in the United States.

But well, so the claim is that he ran in front of their vehicle.

Yes.

But the surveillance camera really tells a different story.

It really looks like they pursued him.

And, you know, kind of using excessive force of as has been the common theme, I think for ICE agents, that is so common.

It's like excessive force.

And then you deflect once confronted with, hey, we this is footage.

This is actual evidence, video proof.

and then just no accountability.

That's kind of how I read it.

We were talking before we went on the air just about how, I hate to say delicate, but how complicated these stories are, especially when we are journalists and feel very strongly about, yes, presenting all sides, And to that, I'll say that I think all sides would agree that they don't want violence.

They don't want these things to happen.

I would hope that that's what everyone can agree on, that regardless of your beliefs about immigration, whatever you think about the administration, we would all like to agree that violence is not the best way to go about it.
