Hello Houston – The Commuter Cut (October 9, 2026)

Yeah, you're obviously, as you mentioned, in the middle of a campaign, but you did march since you were appointed into office recently, just 100 days in office.

You know, how have you acclimated? It sounds like you've overhauled quite a bit or launched new initiatives, shall we say?

We've hit the ground running.

So we've expanded the largest division, actually, in the county attorney's office deals with CPS matters, disability and elder.

We've actually combined.

They kind of were their own independent divisions.

We've created the family division.

to really focus on families.

And that's where domestic violence initiatives are also coming into play, firearm safety initiatives, things like that.

We're challenging the EPA to protect those dollars.

We also secured a win against the EPA with the National Coalition when EPA has refused to enforce its air quality standards under the Clean Air Act.

So we just won on that.

We're protecting our right to vote.

And I will continue to reiterate this.

Red, blue, purple, green, regardless, every eligible voter in Harris County has the right to vote, and we will protect that right, and we just want in court on that very principle.
