It makes cheating by the radical of Democra- dumocrats, I'm sorry, [laughs] on mail-in ballots a much easier thing to do.

Now, what he's talking about is the Supreme Court ruling that, as CNBC reports, blocked a controversial new US Postal Service rule on mail-in ballots from being used for the upcoming midterm elections.

Uh, let's go down a little bit, uh, further here just to say CNBC is saying on Monday, this was three liberal justices, Chief Justice John Roberts, catching folks up if they didn't see this decision yesterday.

They said that it, they, ha- you have to leave in place what this Boston court judge's injunction said that prevented the Postal Service rule from the Trump administration from being applied to ballots mailed in for November's election.

That is a mouthful and complicated, but that's the process.

Um, it was ...

It leaves in place an injunction from a federal court in Boston, uh, on the Postal Service rule that was, came from an executive order.

In fact, in the past, it's often been Republicans who have pushed back against a national voter list, while it might have been some Democrats who wanted to create one.

We also see in that executive order efforts to inject the Postal Service into a role it is not well suited for and it doesn't have the capacity for.

And that is to assess the eligibility of voters to receive ballots when that has already been determined by the states where that authority resides.

Specifically, it would have required the Postal Service to receive lists from every state that intends to send mail ballots.

Spoiler, every state sends mail ballots.

Every single state sends some mail ballots.

And they would have to send lists to a portal, as it was described, that the Postal Service would have to build in a rushed way.

And then the Postal Service would compare those lists to the national voter list.

And I think that's correct.

Plus, it's also made everyone realize, like, it probably is not safe for me to mail in my ballot.

And we've seen this from everything from the Trump administration trying to get rid of them to monkeying around, you know, with the with the Postal Service, with, you Funding, strategy, all of it.

And as a strategist, I'm on the other side of this.

A lot of the conversation I heard with you and John Rothman, you were talking about the media, you were talking about these sort of strategies that have been going on for decades.

It would have given the U.S.

Postal Service the unprecedented power to withhold potentially millions of mail-in ballots.

Conservative Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented.

The decision is a significant loss for the president who spent years rallying against mail voting with false allegations of extensive fraud while continuing to vote by mail himself.

One of them said, well, I won't do it now because we're too close to election, but I would otherwise give this power to the Postal Service.

And he says Americans should remain vigilant.

I'm absolutely certain the president will keep trying to bring the November election.
