How can a Loving God Send People to Hell?

How can a loving God send people to hell? What a weighty question that is.

And it's an age-old question, and people have answered it different ways.

Some have thought that that's surely not possible, that God cannot send people to hell.

Some have even said there perhaps isn't even a hell there.

No, we simply live our lives and we are simply no more.

It's what Paul says that the world would communicate.

So we eat, drink, and tomorrow we die.

Yes, we will die.

But the question is, what will happen when there is a second resurrection? What will happen when there is for some a second death? And that second death are those who will be separated from the living God for an eternity.

Yes, hell, a reality.

But yet we want to think it through in this lens.

And you see the other part of the title is God's love, the great white throne and eternal punishment.

Because we will look at the great white throne and we'll understand that God is in fact just in condemning those who rejected him to eternal separation from him.

But that action itself, in the minds of some, calls into question whether or not a loving God can do such a thing.

If you are a loving God, how can he possibly be separated from those that he created, those that he had the sovereign control of sending them a message or not, those that he sovereignly placed in a certain place, and how is that possible? That God can still be just.

And some would even say, I'm not even sure that I can love such a God.

A God that would allow eternal conscious punishment.

So they call into question God.

They impugn God.

But there is reality of eternal separation from God.

It's sober.

And why do I say it's sober? It's obvious why it's sober.

We're talking about eternal punishment.

You, I know, have loved ones that are either on the other side of that punishment.

That is, they're on the other side of life and now they are forever separated from God.
