Empty Yourself: Making Room for the Holy Spirit

Send us Fan Mail **Empty Yourself: Making Room for the Holy Spirit** God is not looking for more talent - He is looking for empty, consecrated vessels He can fill. If you feel spiritually full, distracted, or unsure why God is not moving the way you expected, this episode shows you exactly what has to change. Wilfred unpacks the powerful story of the widow in 2 Kings 4 and reveals why her breakthrough started with a simple question: What do you have in the house? From the jar of oil to the borrowed empty vessels, this episode turns that miracle into a clear call to surrender, enlargement, and availability. You’ll discover: Why God often starts with what you already have, not what you lack Why the miracle depended on empty vessels, not decorated ones How consecration creates room for the Holy Spirit to move Why your capacity, not God’s power, is often the real limitation What it means to be cleansed, sanctified, useful, and prepared for every good work Wilfred also connects the passage to Ephesians 5:18 and 2 Timothy 2:21, showing how spiritual filling is tied to spiritual preparation. The challenge is direct: if your life is already full of pride, fear, sin, noise, or worldly distractions, there may be no room left for the Holy Ghost to work. This is a message for Christians who want more than inspiration - they want transformation, deeper intimacy with God, and a life that can carry His power. If you’ve been asking God for more, this episode asks a better question: have you made room for Him? Perfect for anyone longing to be used by God, walk in greater consecration, and become the kind of vessel heaven can trust. This episode explores what it means to empty yourself before God, using the widow’s oil in 2 Kings 4:1 to 7 as the central picture. Wilfred explains that God is not looking for talented or gifted vessels, but for consecrated, available vessels He can fill and use. The message focuses on surrender, consecration, and spiritual capacity, showing how the size of the miracle often depends on the room we make for God. Key topics Wilfred defines “empty yourself” as surrendering your will, pride, desires, ambitions, fears, and anything that competes with God’s lordship. He uses the widow in 2 Kings 4 to show that God starts with what you already have, even if it seems insignificant, like a single jar of oil. The instruction to gather empty vessels becomes the core lesson: God fills what is empty, not what is already full of self. He emphasizes that the widow was told to gather many vessels, not a few, as a call to enlarge capacity and expectation. The miracle happened behind closed doors, pointing to the secret place, private intimacy, and consecration before public breakthrough. Wilfred argues that revival and spiritual power are born in hidden places where people pay the price in prayer and surrender. The oil met the widow’s needs, paid her debt, and secured her family’s future, showing that God’s provision is both practical and transformational. He uses Ephesians 5:18 to contrast being filled with wine and being filled with the Holy Spirit, stressing that a vessel full of sin cannot be full of the Spirit at the same time. From 2 Timothy 2:21, he outlines the marks of a vessel God can use: cleansed, sanctified, useful, and prepared. The closing challenge is whether believers have made enough room for the Holy Ghost to operate fully in their lives.
