Campaign Devolved | Generation X Gaming #498

This week, 30nstillgaming and Sergeant McCcluskey dive into another packed episode covering the latest gaming industry news, Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft, Fable, cloud gaming, and plenty of classic GXG rants along the way.We kick things off by discussing our recent experience with Halo Campaign Evolved, breaking down what works, what doesn't, and whether modern design choices like excessive HUD elements, sprint mechanics, and visual updates improve the experience—or take away from what made Halo a classic. The conversation then shifts to the planned PlayStation Blackout protest surrounding Sony's digital-first strategy and the future of physical media. Can community boycotts really influence billion-dollar corporations? We also cover Ubisoft's digital game transfer program, allowing select Xbox purchases to move to PC, and discuss what this could mean for digital ownership moving forward.Later in the show, we discuss reports that Fable has gone significantly over budget, the challenges Playground Games faces developing an RPG for the first time, and what ballooning AAA budgets mean for the future of the industry. Finally, we wrap up with a discussion about cloud gaming, Amazon's vision for gaming on smart TVs, and whether dedicated consoles will remain the primary way people play games over the next decade. As always, expect plenty of gaming debates, industry analysis, laughs, and community interaction throughout the show.#podcast #gaming #gamingnews ----------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters00:00 - Intro & What We've Been Playing28:28 - Halo Campaign Evolved Impressions35:00 - Modern Halo vs Classic Halo Design44:47 - Final Thoughts on Halo Campaign45:10 - PlayStation Blackout Discussion56:38 - Can Gaming Boycotts Work?01:00:35 - Ubisoft Xbox-to-PC Digital Transfers01:07:53 - Digital Ownership Discussion01:17:27 - Fable Reportedly Over Budget01:20:47 - The Rising Cost of AAA Games01:46:47 - Live-Service Gaming Rant01:47:29 - Why the Industry Keeps Chasing Trends02:07:00 - Amazon's Cloud Gaming Vision02:09:31 - The Future of Consoles & Smart TVs02:10:00 - Community Questions & Closing Thoughts---------------------------------------------------------------------------Stream or Purchase Album:\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_Apple Music: https://geo.music.apple.com/album/per...Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/5mYKl3...iTunes: https://geo.music.apple.com/album/per...Youtube Music: • Album - Perk Up & Press Play | The Daily G... \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_Become a Subscribe: / @30nsg .Become a 30NSG YOUTUBE MEMBER Here: / @30nsg Join Our Discord: / discord Twitter: https://x.com/30nstillgamingSpotify: GXG Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/3nEYqXh...
