Cenk UygurHOST
31:06
That's for you to do, cuz you're an anti-Semite.
Cenk UygurHOST
31:10
All right, Bert Bignetti on Twitch says, Cenk is the Pac-Man.
Cenk UygurHOST
31:15
Emil Woods, 1980, says, Cenk Alula.
Cenk UygurHOST
31:20
NARC says, my sister who's MAGA says she doesn't think is voting in the midterms, mainly all the money we send to Israel.
Chris JohnstonHOST
62:20
Okay.
Chris JohnstonHOST
62:21
This one's from Hacker Alias Mr. Mr. Nelson, who says, what was your favorite video game themed breakfast cereal? For me, it was Pac-Man cereal.
Chris JohnstonHOST
62:33
The only way I would ever eat kicks was when they added those ghost monster marshmallows.
Chris JohnstonHOST
62:40
First of all, a lot of Pac-Man cereal.
Chris JohnstonHOST
62:41
Pac-Man cereal.
Greg SewartHOST
62:43
Yes.
Greg SewartHOST
62:44
Yeah.
Chris JohnstonHOST
63:07
I'm sure I had that, too.
Chris ElogiHOST
10:49
There's a doofus and then there's a woman named Regina.
Chris ElogiHOST
10:53
and they have a ton of bullets they have guns that essentially as you kill dinosaurs and whatnot you get these points that you can spend at any of the save points to buy new weapons or refill your ammo or you can even upgrade your ammo so you can hold more bullets and so I have I think the guy has 500 bullets for his shotgun thing and Regina has 200 to 300 bullets for her gun and that's a lot basically kind of takes the tension out of the game but they also just have you know dinosaurs just spawning constantly into these areas so if you need to grind out some points to unlock a thing you can do that pretty easily there's not a ton of challenge to the game so far and I've already killed multiple T-Rexes and Allosaurus and stuff like that mostly by they're typically in these areas where you can go up a ladder to a higher area.
Chris ElogiHOST
12:06
Maybe if you're close to the edge, they'll try to bite you and swipe at you.
Chris ElogiHOST
12:11
Eventually we'll just jump up.

9 MINS LATER

Daniel VictorioHOST
21:13
A few weeks ago, I was at the Bruno Mars concert, so there was that, and that was on a Sunday.
Daniel VictorioHOST
21:17
And then last week, I was in LA for a few days because I went to concerts for Metaphor ReFantasio as well as Call of Trigger.
Daniel VictorioHOST
21:27
And you guys know me.
Daniel VictorioHOST
21:28
I am a huge JRPG fan.
LawrenceHOST
46:26
He played Halo or some shit.
LawrenceHOST
46:28
He plays Pac-Man in this fucking cafe or whatever.
LawrenceHOST
46:34
He's the nuts, you don't even know.
NathanHOST
46:37
He played Miss Pac-Man at a local cafe.
LawrenceHOST
46:40
This is one of them scenes that's so obviously written by a fucking 50-year-old man.
LawrenceHOST
46:43
Because the way Sarah Jane turns around, it's such a fucking audience surrogate for a 50-year-old man.
Louis YuGUEST
48:50
The big pen up top actually speaks games by what food actually does in them.
Louis YuGUEST
48:55
Is it a goal? Is it a resource? Is it a process they go through? Or is there kind of no food at all? So at the end of this session, hopefully you'll know why it's a pen and why there's a Pac-Man in there and why it almost ended up longer than it is.
Louis YuGUEST
49:09
So I've split up this presentation into five sections, five stops, one power palette each.
Louis YuGUEST
49:16
So if you've played Pac-Man, this shouldn't be a surprise to you.
Louis YuGUEST
49:20
So firstly, I'll talk about the idea, the story, the design, the data, and then I'll talk about the feedback as well.
Louis YuGUEST
49:27
So the first thing, let's start at the very beginning, finding the hook.

7 MINS LATER

Louis YuGUEST
56:44
So I started laying down the dots my own way.
Louis YuGUEST
56:48
And wait a minute.
TimHOST
2:43
I would probably want to see...
TimHOST
2:44
I know Pac-Man's been done a few times to its original gameplay mechanics.
TimHOST
2:49
It's still pretty good.
TimHOST
2:51
Before we were recording this episode, I was showing these guys footage of Tetris 99.
TimHOST
2:54
There's also Pac-Man 99 and Super Mario Bros. 99.
TimHOST
2:58
Um... all really fun Battle Royale-esque games while maintaining their original mechanics.
TimHOST
3:04
So I'm thinking about something like that.
ErichHOST
62:31
Yeah.
ErichHOST
62:32
same game that came out the same year as that was Pac-Man yes Pac-Man and of course that got a new game just last year when did
FalconHOST
62:43
Bomberman
ErichHOST
62:43
start do we know when Bomberman started yes oh I had that written down yeah look it up real quick Bomberman.
FalconHOST
63:00
Same
ErichHOST
63:00
as Mario.
ErichHOST
63:01
Pac-Man and Mario.
ErichHOST
63:03
Pac-Man X Mario.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:04
I remember in the 80s, I did used to play this sort of arcade game called Space Invaders.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:10
And there was another one called Pac-Man.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:12
So we use those as an example just to illustrate the point.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:15
If you're playing Space Invaders and you're having a great game.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:19
But you reach a point where you say, oh, I'm actually a bit bored with Space Invaders now.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:22
I want to play Pac-Man.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:24
Well, sorry, you can't.
Mark DevlinGUEST
50:26
Because you're on a machine which has been configured to play Space Invaders.
Fred LogueGUEST
9:34
Every day that goes by, that game gets a little more expensive than it did yesterday.
Fred LogueGUEST
9:38
But then on the arcade side, you can't open an arcade without a Space Invaders, a Galaga, a Pac-Man, a Donkey Kong, like the games that people that don't even... have an interest in arcades, they're expecting you to have these games because that's the ones that they've heard of, you know, whether they saw it on TV or they just remember it from, you know, a yesteryear, to see, like, what these characters have become today.
Fred LogueGUEST
10:05
Like, Donkey Kong is a fixture in every Nintendo household, but, you know...
Fred LogueGUEST
10:10
The arcade game, very different, very different.
ChrisHOST
45:15
And this happened to me very recently in a very surprising way.
ChrisHOST
45:19
I picked up a CRT from the side of the road, tested it, first of all, with Pac-Man on the Namco TV joystick, and the wife heard it, came in from the other room and joined in because she loves Pac-Man.
ChrisHOST
45:29
But then I wanted to test the S video port.
ChrisHOST
45:31
So I plugged in the Jaguar and loaded up Cybermorph.
ChrisHOST
45:47
And the next day when I got home from work, I found myself switching on the Jag and the TV again, and I played it again.
ChrisHOST
45:55
And then again, and to the point where after working out how many levels there actually are, rather than hating it for what it isn't, I began to enjoy it for what it is.
ChrisHOST
46:05
Cybermorph, by the way, for those that haven't played it, is basically flying Pac-Man with guns.
ChrisHOST
46:12
And so now Cybermorph really bizarrely has made it onto my games I really want to complete list.
