Making sense of Tyler Shough's wild opener for the Saints

Let's get into it, shall we? 'Cause I was there.

The live experience, the up close experience was really something to watch.

I, I'm not sure how it came through on the television.

I went back and watched the replay, but it was a condensed replay.

It's really gonna get the, you know, the every down feeling of what was happening.

I'll let y'all be the judge of that.

I was there in person, so I will give you, uh, my interpretation of the journey that Tyler Shuck took us all on Sunday.

Let me start by saying this.

I simply cannot recall a time where a player plays so bad that he's worthy of being benched, and then plays so good that he's worthy of MVP discussion.

But that was the Tyler Shuck experience on Sunday in Detroit.

One of the wildest, I repeat, wildest 180s I have ever seen up close.

I've been covering sports a long time, been covering the Saints a long time.

Mm-hmm.

One of the wildest 180s I have ever seen up close.

Let's get into it.

Y'all saw the first two and a half quarters.

To call Shuck's play a disaster would be a drastic-

Mm

... understatement.

Unsettled, overwhelmed.

Mm-hmm.

Inaccurate.

Yep.

Shell-shocked.

Completely out of sync.
