A guy that doesn't need a lot of training camp to be ready for your offense.

This New Orleans Saints offense should have what it takes with under center play, play action, an effective run game, a bolstered offensive line thanks to David Edwards.

more multi tight end sets a little bit more balance to come from all that they now have everything that they need to be more balanced to be more unpredictable and to be as versatile as possible and create some hard to match up with variables for the detroit lions injured defense it puts tyler shuck in a very comfortable position Assuming everything is working the way that it needs to work.

That doesn't mean scoring on your first drive.

I feel great about the tackles banks and Fonga.

I think Dave Edwards is going to be fantastic.

I mean, that's, that's a, hell of a an upgrade that you could get you know the depth has a concern there but yeah that's right that's right so i think he's got a ton of pressure to perform and if i'm the saints and fans you know as soon as there's one negative play you know who's going to get the butt end of it right like if you just i know say twitter like as soon as something happens what was ruiz doing on that play i mean it's just it's just how it is that's how it is but yeah i agree with you dylan

We haven't seen him since the spring, right? At center, like Alec Anderson is the new starting left guard.

It's not David Edwards anymore.

So there's some newness up there.

Is Deion's weight right? Is his body the way he wants it to where he was in his younger playing career after he was drafted in 2017? Is Spencer Brown 100% healthy? You know what I mean? Like there's a lot of stuff with the Bills offensive line that we talked about Ty Johnson to open the show.

Add all that up, and I feel good about the offensive line, but I don't feel like it's something that I could set it and forget it and not even have to worry about like I have the past few years.

I was going to say, it's almost felt like that the last three or four years, right? That like the Bills, they would maybe rotate out the left guard, but over the last two years, David Edwards was such a rock there at left guard.

Osiris Torrance hasn't been spectacular, but he's been super durable.

He's played every snap, essentially.

Kellen Moore, their coach, showed some good strides near the end of the year.

So, you know, they had a splashy offseason, signing Travis Achan, David Edwards.

They drafted Jordan Tyson, who won't play in this game, but they're still excited about.

And so there's just a lot of reasons to think that this team could be improved.

So I'll be looking at him, but their O-line is not – It's a solid unit, I think.

Fuaga, Cesar Ruiz, former Michigan Wolverine, McCoy at center, David Edwards, and Calvin Banks.

That's a pretty solid unit right there.

And then the big off-season pickup for New Orleans was Travis.

It's a quality unit.

They've invested a lot of legit draft capital into their Kelvin Banks first round pick, Fuaga first round pick, Cesar Ruiz, a Michigan Wolverine first round pick.

Um, David Edwards was a, a free agent signing that they just got this year.

Significant upgrade.

So there is that big piece of it.

But then they brought in David Edwards from the Bills at left guard.

And he was, I mean, the price point that they got him for is extremely high.

He was somebody that was highly sought after in free agency because of how good he has been in the league holding down that spot.

They have...

Two people on the ends, right tackle and left tackle in Kelvin Banks, who did extremely well in his rookie season, and Talia Seifuaga, who are young.

But then you have Cesar Ruiz, Eric McCoy, and now David Edwards in the middle, who are all vets and have shown that they can play at a high level.

So I think the run game is going to be something to look for that's very much improved in terms of what they added and building pieces around that.

They trailed on a league high 76.8% of snaps in 2025, which is insane.

They added a couple of players, you know, Noah Fant got their offensive line with David Edwards, but You know, is he the future there? Is he going to get it done? I think that they are missing some pieces, but I'm scared for the Lions to lie in, as we like to say.

So give me the over 49 and a half here.

I do think points will be scored.

And the Saints invested heavily outside of Alvin Kamara in making sure the run game was better.

They brought in David Edwards to shore up the front.

They brought in Travis Achan to... add a little bit more explosiveness to the offense so now the Saints have a chance to get it going everyone wants to see what Tyler Shuck's going to be able to do with his arm this season but getting the ground game going early is only going to open that up and help you avoid some of the mistakes that you made last year in terms of uh you know the running game not being able to be a factor because of the offensive line because Alvin Kamara wasn't as explosive as he once was battling injury Plus, whenever you do get the ground game going, that only helps out Tyler Shuck and will open up more for him through the air.

It leads me to my second key to victory on offense, and that is force Detroit to defend the size of Jawan Johnson and Devon Vele.
