It Was God...

We were talking about this in Sunday school class a few weeks ago.

Pastor Brett Medder of Athey Creek Church in Oregon made a profound statement.

He said the church is not becoming more political.

Politics are becoming more theological.

When the government starts redefining marriage and redefining what a boy is and what a girl is and disguising abortion with terms like reproductive health care and then using the public school system to disciple our kids, politics has now stepped onto biblical grounds.

That's absolutely the case with our understanding of the subject we're talking about today, and that's Israel.

We're living in a world... filled with conflicting opinions and intense hatred for the Jewish people.

It's a sweeping demonic blindness that's covering our entire world.

We've seen all the demonstrators with their signs.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

Did you know that they interviewed those folks? And 99% of them could not identify what river or what sea.

It's the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, and the idea is push the Jewish people into the sea, and may they all be drowned.

Even in our nation, it's been a longtime friend of Israel and ally, supporter of Israel.

There's been a disturbing trend.

Both Gallup and Pew Research has shown a historic decline in American support and sympathy for the Jewish people.

60% of U.S. adults now hold an unfavorable view of Israel, while only 37% hold a favorable view.

And the shift has come across both political parties, all age demographics, as well as within the church.

But church, listen to me carefully.

Is it okay that we turn today to the most authoritative source available, the Word of God, for our answers? We talked about it last week.

The Word of God should be our absolute authority and the final answer on every topic we face.

It is God's holy, inerrant, inspired Word.
