Billy and Jake hit the Sorsby mess from a commish’s angle, break down the AJB trade fallout for Drakes, Doubs, Hurts, Smith, and the rookies, then zoom out to what “value” actually means in dynasty…
Outside of that, I have a question for you that's definitely going around the socials.
You
All right, well, the Sorsby situation where this kid got caught gambling and then was trying to make his way back to a college program, but seems like that's not going to be the case.
So he's going to enter the supplemental NFL draft and he's going to be a pretty coveted selection both i think in the nfl and in the dynasty community a guy who you know in the the current draft class the 2026 draft class would have probably been easily a first round pick just with his profile not really even needing to see him play much uh which i think is a dangerous game to play in general to be honest with you but Definitely some talent there.
And it's definitely causing a ruckus for commissioners across the landscape because how do you really handle this situation, right? It's like, do you allow him to be picked up off waivers? Do you allow him to go into some other kind of supplemental...
draft or waiver period i don't even know what we want to call it at that point or do you just kind of say no we're not dealing with it this year so i mean i know how i dealt with it i've seen some stuff uh all over you know twitter blue sky and don't necessarily agree with how everybody's dealing with it but uh i'll give you the floor jake what would you do as a commissioner what have you done i know you're a commissioner of a couple leagues what have you done in this situation
yeah your message prompted me to send out my message to my leaks that i commissioned i'll just read it verbatim to get ahead of the dreaded sorsby news i've opted to allow him to join the waivers once added to the player pool he will go through the same blind bidding process as the rest of the population at all.
I honestly believe that he is just another player in the player pool that we will not be talking about in 24 months, potentially not even 12 months.
The reason is, is this is the same thing that would occur if there was excitement around a UDFA popping up out of training camp, in my opinion.
in the process of basically the NFL will be able to fight for him if anyone even wants him given his gambling addiction issues.
I know that there's going to be arguments around, well, everyone should have an equal opportunity just like during the regular NFL draft through the rookie draft.
The fact is that he wasn't available during then, and I don't believe that waiting until the 2027 draft is the solution personally, but I also don't feel strong enough to care.
So for me, it's like if certain commissioners are going to do that, where they basically lock him out of the player pool for 2026, I'm like, go for it.
