What to make of Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje + Duke's non-conference gauntlet

Uh, this team is like a legit 10 deep.

They've got a third string that I think could play with Boston College, man.

Hmm.

Like Sebastian, roll Sebastian Wilkins, Jacob Theodosio, some of those guys out there, I think they're giving BC a run for their money.

Uh, that second string could maybe win the ACC.

Yeah.

I- I'm, like I, I think that's a crazy thing to say.

I don't think it's that outlandish really, though.

The, the first s- just this team's depth is insane.

If the b- back court has four guys that are bonafide top level starting point guards or shooting guards, the front court has the same.

You've got wings that are five star freshmen or former five star freshmen.

It's just every single player's a hit.

It reminds me of the '99 Duke roster.

Hmm.

You know, it reminds me a little bit of that 2015 Kentucky team, outside of maybe not having a, a Carl Anthony Towns or a Devin Booker type player necessarily, though there's a guy that some people may think is on that level on this Duke team.

Uh, but on paper it kinda is missing those stars, those, th- those Cooper Flags, the Cameron Boozers, but I don't know if you can name a deeper team than this.

I mean, Clint, can you remember a team any deeper than this?

Well, I'm counting 12 deep if, if you include Meyer.

He might be a, more of a-

... project.

You know, um, he could be a more of a long-term work in progress, but, uh, 11 or 12 is plenty.

[laughs] You know, you only need eight, uh, theoretically, uh, and that's usually what it boils down to throughout the course of the season.

But it, you know, even if we have injuries and, for example, we haven't seen Gangba lately, uh, what's his health status gonna be? It's good to know that not all is lost if one guy goes down or even two or even three, uh, because of that depth.

Um, and there may not be a superstar.
