Jon Scheyer

I have it in my to, to read list.

This New York Times article about, um, Duke coach Jon Scheyer, uh, and why he didn't come to the Mavericks, but also over the last several days there's been a lot of video about Duke players coming back to Duke to, like, just be on campus and, like, play in pickup games.

And, you know, you know this in your head, like, Duke is an incredible school, but then you see all these guys in videos together where it's like, oh, there's Derek Lively, Kyrie Irving, Cooper Flagg, Jason Tatum, and it just, like, you go down this huge list of dudes.

It's like, wow.

I think they're gonna be better than what they're listed as, but there's just a lot we don't know about, and so I'm just sort of sitting here thinking, you know, there's, there's this team with a lot of things to be hopeful about, but beyond that, it's, it's just been kind of a, a, a too quiet, where you're left filling the space with the, you know, all kinds of thoughts really.

Yeah.

Uh, yeah, the Scheyer thing was interesting, 'cause I think there was reports ...

And basically the, the story that came out today in The Athletic was basically Scheyer turned down ...

Maybe it's Mark Few Gonzaga.

You know, maybe it is, you know, recent Duke under Jon Scheyer.

Maybe it is, like, uh, 0859 says, maybe they're the Buffalo Bills of, of college volleyball.

Always the bridesmaid and, and never the bride.

so Jon Scheyer, a great birthday gift that we would like on your birthday is for an Another One video to drop at some point this week.

Um, they, they just have an embarrassment of riches and stuff.

But knowing John Scheyer, what we've seen from him, he will find a way to, to mess it up at the very-

... at the very end.

And they show up, and they've, they demand excellence out of their team.

Like, they're trying to boot Jon Scheyer, right?

Yeah, I've seen it.

Yeah, maybe John, J- Jon Scheyer's telling Jason, "Stay close.

Uh, you know, go to the beach, but stay close, stay close because, uh, we might need to bring you back in, uh, at some point to discuss this." But right now we're gonna discuss some football.

A- and Jason, of course, we, we preview football every year.

And then throw in Nikhmina now playing for them.

So yeah, it's just another gauntlet of a non-conference schedule.

Jon Scheyer did not spare them, that's for sure.
