I think he's going to be one of the best defenders, if not the best defender in the country.

Part of this is I expect John Blackwell to play more than any of the other guards, even more than Dame Saar.

And I also feel like, especially if you look at the stats last year, Dame, even though he was, along with Malik Brown, he was Duke's defensive specialist, he didn't have a ton of steals.

He was right around 1.0 steals per game.

when I think our blueprint is much more than that.

You know, I think of, you know, multiple-year guys in Tyrese Proctor, you know, Malik Brown, Isaiah Evans.

You can go down the list.

You think, obviously, most recently right now is Sebastian Wilkins.

But to answer your question about the fifth year stuff... that's too much of a variable for him.

Um, you know, would it be nice to have, you know, a fifth year play? Yeah.

It would have been great to have Malik Brown back.

Like he should have another great season where he's probably going to be in the top five voting for MVP and probably be the favorite for defensive player of the year.

i also like that the spurs added tobias harris and free agency i just feel like he's a i just feel like he's a good steady hand to have on your team he can mentor the young guys on the team while also just being a good veteran presence for everybody out there i also like their draft they've got jaden quaint terrace reed and malik brown Now, Malik Brown is the player that really surprised me during the preseason because in his last season in college, he wasn't that great of a three-point shooter.

I think he hit like 16.7%, somewhere around there.

And going to these preseason games that I've been watching, he's been hitting some threes out there.

I think for one of these games, he went two for three from three.

So if he ends up being a good three-point shooter for the Spurs, and man, that makes that team more dangerous because Malik Brown is an amazing defender that can really guard anybody out there.

So if he ends up being a good role player for them, then man, that Spurs team is going to be even better.

And that's without me even mentioning their young guys like Carter Bryant and Dylan Harper.

Grandison, the Illinois guy, and Blackwell there from Wisconsin.

But yeah, we really want to go to Malik Brown or Seon James or...

Theo John, even, that have had these big-time contributions.

Ryan Young, that you feel like you felt more of the presence.

There are some familiar faces, both from training camp, summer league, and the two ways.

Jacoby Gillespie, Malik Brown, and David Jones-Garcia will all spend considerable time in Austin, as well as Talon Peter, Terry Taylor.

Those guys that were there, Malik Williams and RJ Davis, John Elmore, those are all players that were there.

at some point up there with San Antonio for training camp before they were waived before the regular season but they will all be on the roster to begin the year trying to think oh Myles Barnstable was over there in the summer league so he'll be there he'll be back so yeah a pretty familiar roster even though none of these players technically played for the Austin Spurs besides Jaden Nunn last year but that was something Chris Kent mentioned was just You have to start getting acclimated, and one of the things that he was talking about was he kind of wants the thing that they hang their hat on to be playing harder than their opponents.

Elite guys, you know, he had come on his first year, come on Malik.

Next year, he's played with Cam Boozer, obviously, after playing with Cooper Flagg.

This year, obviously, this team is talented, but now it's your time to, like, be assertive.

A year two Cam Williams with development would be fun to watch, but...

Regardless, I think Czarnowski will get some PT there, which would be good front court depth for Duke because that was kind of the area for concern last year when Duke lost to UConn was because Pat Gumb was bad on injury.

Malik Brown got in foul trouble.

That whole rotation is all in the currently in the league, I think.
