Instant Iowa State: Iowa State’s Offense Gets Exposed in BYU Loss

Yes, indeed.

Iowa State comes up short on the road in a late night in Provo.

24-10 against eighth-ranked BYU.

My name's Emery Songer.

I'm joined by the legend Ben Bruns.

This is Instant Iowa State.

Kind of like the next day.

It's instant if you just woke up Iowa State here on Iowa Everywhere presented by Fairway Meat and Grocery.

Big thanks to them for being our title sponsor for Instant Iowa State and for everything that they help us do on Iowa Everywhere as a whole.

Big thanks to them.

And big thanks to you, Ben.

Different background tonight.

Or this morning, sorry.

How did you intake the game? How are things going wherever you are? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So up at my... very good friend, Lynn Davis, his place in Northwest Wisconsin, Chautauqua area.

This is his childhood home and now deer camp for a great group of guys and gals that come here and hunt.

And so, I took the game in last night after a long drive and watched it from up here.

And, you know, pretty frustrating, right? Early morning, got the face paint off already, so it wasn't blue, so it didn't stick like some of those folks in BYU

had to deal with.

You know, man, what a what a frustrating day in so many ways.

And yet still late in the game, Iowa State has the ball down two scores, misses a field goal and, you know, had a chance to kind of be in a game where you're behind in total yardage by 300 yards.

Yeah, I got a bunch of things here that we're going to get through, but just kind of off the top.

I talked about this game on the committee, which I'm lucky enough to be a part of that show, and I was on my first committee on Iowa Everywhere on Wednesday, and we talked about this game, and I felt like there were a lot of things working against Iowa State.

First of all, BYU's a great roster.

They've had a lot of coaching stability.
