Monica RamirezGuestAdam HoyerGuestThere's a lot of parts of healthcare and a lot of bad things happening as Republican leaders in Congress have voted down a whole bunch of different parts of our healthcare system.
First of all, we are really standing out in a negative way among industrialized nations and not having access to healthcare for everyone.
So it adds insult to injury to, first of all, not have a complete health care system for everybody.
And then to have, secondly, Republican leaders in Congress chop it up.
And we were talking about that, the trillion dollars in cuts to Medicaid.
And the House actually voted to extend the tax credits with the Affordable Care Act, but the Senate hasn't, so we are losing out.
And this is one of those things that it's gone under the radar for a lot of people.
Another thing is that, as we all know, health policy, especially health policy in this country, is complicated.
And it's important to keep talking about the cuts, not just to Medicaid, as you mentioned, but letting those ACA tax credits expire.
And already we know that more than 8 million Americans have lost their health coverage since the Trump Republican health care took hold.
