Bossier Watch Show 314: Budget Bloviation

Of course, there was a little bit of drama with the alderman, with Carr and Manning both.

There was an ordinance introduced about... having to attend the meetings to be paid.

And if I remember correctly, all you bent knights that actually watched the entire meeting that we posted, correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm going straight off the memory here, but they...

We're going to pass an ordinance so that you had to basically you had to attend meetings to get paid because Manning and Carr both have been missing several meetings in a row or whatever the case was.

And they ended up tabling that because, according to Joel Murphy, he had done some research on with some agey opinions and all that.

And that if they enacted it, they couldn't start it till like the next election, I believe.

Or maybe it was the next fiscal year, which would be 2027.

So they decided to table it, if I remember correctly.

So there's that drama, which is never ending.

But one more thing, Mr. Lowry, which popped up on KTBS.

Did you happen to see that? You know, this is dealing with your neck of the woods up there.

Well, it just so happens that I did see that somebody got booked, arrested, cuffed, and stuffed up there.

Is that what you're referring to?

Yeah, and apparently the arrest actually took place earlier this spring with one of the former employees.

And I got to reading KTBS's article.

I drink community coffee.

I don't drink cappuccinos and lattes and all that stuff.

If you do, that's fine.

I didn't realize that cappuccino machines were $1,800 and some odd dollars.

I got to tell you, I read that little clip and I was like, wait a minute.

You're telling me we're spending these kinds of dollars that you're getting rewards for coffee? Yeah.

Enough to get you arrested?

Now, does anybody know who's in the audience watching? I don't know if she bought the cappuccino machine with the rewards points or whatever transpired.
