Ep. 114 Mike Elias LOST his fanbase

So just got some breaking news.

I mean, it's not really breaking, but Jake Morale and Ken Rosenthal just came out with it.

Left-handed pitcher Trevor Rogers was not traded and will be remaining with Orioles, source confirms.

So we have Trevor Rogers now.

You have to extend him, and you have to extend Holiday.

Yeah, you have to extend Holiday.

Holiday is the face of the franchise.

We all know Gunnar is not coming back, especially since Adley Rutschman is gone.

That trade happened at 4:00-ish, maybe 5:00-ish Monday.

But the O's got a haul in return.

Number two, but now number one prospect for the Baltimore Orioles, Anthony Jansen, who is a right-handed pitcher.

A right-handed pitcher, Kyson Witherspoon, who was the number four, and I think number six now in our farm system.

Carlos Narvaez, who would probably just be a back catcher at this point.

Alfred Andy Azocar, number five for the Red Sox, and then a player to be named later, so we will see who that is.

I guess I'll start with my initial reaction.

My initial reaction was, "Wow, that actually happened?" We went through a whole rebuild, all for Elias to say lift-off is now, all for the team to be built around Adley Rutschman, and I guess Elias saw it as a failure.

Yeah, Elias did see it as a failure.

Elias doesn't have confidence that this roster is built to win, so he traded Adley.

And there's good promise to these prospects, don't get me wrong.

We'll get into the stats.

But you look at the Machado trade, when they traded Machado to the Dodgers.

Of course, didn't really get anything for him, and the only thing really that we got out of that was Dean Kramer, who is now a Twin.

Yeah, I actually had some tears today.

JC, what was your initial reaction?

I was, uh, working, and I was about to go on my lunch break, and I mean, I was looking at my phone constantly 'cause I was getting notifications in my group chat and everything, and, uh, you know, everybody's freaking out.
