Dr. Jaquel Patterson is a nationally recognized naturopathic physician and leading expert in Lyme disease and integrative medicine. After experiencing her own difficult journey to a Lyme diagnosis…
Jaquel PattersonGuestMikeHostAnd the first question I have for you is you actually experienced your own misdiagnosis of Lyme's disease.
So what was that journey like for you?

Yeah, so I likely I predicted that I had Lyme disease when I was in naturopathic medical school in my later 20s.

And anxiety was my one of my biggest things in terms of heat intolerance, I would be sweating, hot flashes, et cetera.

So I knew it wasn't going through perimenopause and there was something else.

And at the time they thought it was anxiety, but when it would happen, it would be one-sided.

And so because of that, they started working me up for autoimmune conditions and those came back unclear, but I didn't really match up all the symptomatic picture of it.

And so when I started working as a naturopathic doctor and I started actually seeing people with Lyme disease and treating people, um, and after myself going through my own process of healing, I was like, wait a second, all of these symptoms sound very much like the things that I had, you know, several years prior.

But as we know, with studies are showing, you know, throughout the country, every every single state has Lyme disease.

But me myself having that my own experience and knowing the right questions to ask when a person is in front of me.
