Voting Rights, Gun Violence, & Fighting Back with Juliana Stratton

I am very excited about this interview.

I reached out to our next guest and said, look, you may very well be in the Senate having a very important position from Illinois come November.

And I feel like people don't know enough about you.

I feel like I don't know enough about you.

And I want to get to know Julianna Stratton.

Now, what I do know about Julianna Stratton comes from Governor J.B. Pritzker, who you have been his lieutenant governor.

He thinks the world of you.

I love me some J.B. Pritzker and J.B. Pritzker loves him some Juliana Stratton.

He said you are absolutely terrific and have been a great partner to him in his administration in Illinois.

So welcome and thank you for making the time to join us on Bleep this week.

Well, thank you, Ana.

I'm so glad to join you.

And I think all of Illinois loves J.B. Pritzker.

So I've been honored to serve as his lieutenant governor over these past seven plus years.

Donald Trump doesn't love J.B. Pritzker, but I think that's a badge of honor.

That's exactly right.

If Donald Trump loved J.B. Pritzker, then we would be doing something wrong.

But I think we're doing something right.

Yes.

So let's talk about you, though.

Um, so you are his Lieutenant governor for seven and a half years, but how did you get there? How to tell me about Julianna Stratton?

Sure.

Well, I, I always kind of start with the story of what led me to run for office in the first place.

Um, because it's a story that is, uh, a story of so many Illinois and so many Americans.

And that is that 10 years ago, I was the primary caregiver for my mother.
