I'm coming to you remotely today, it's that limbo week between camp and school. Two stories I had to get into. First, the JD Vance Hamptons fundraiser. A lot of people in the Jewish community reacted…
I think it was hosted at, uh, if I'm getting this right, uh, Omid Malek's, uh, residence in the Hamptons.
For those of you who don't know, Omid Malek is the, uh, runs 1789 Capital and, you know, you have, uh, you, you know, you have Donald Trump Jr. there and you have JD Vance.
And the way this thing was being portrayed and reacted to, I think, was a bit off, so I wanted to talk about that.
Without, uh, softballing anything or making apologies or, uh, you know, um, trying to make excuses for anything, I know that there's...
A lot of people, including myself, have been frustrated with him for a whole host of reasons, but I think it's always good to be discerning.
The issue with Omid Malek for a lot of people is that his fund, 1789 Capital, was one of the initial investors in the Tucker Carlson network.
And, uh, bottom line is, there was a lot of, I think, overreaction to what this was and misrepresentation to what this was.

Now, my message to my fellow Jews in the Jewish community who care about, uh, Jewish security, safety, and the, you know, state of the Jewish community in the diaspora, especially in the United States, it's like, you know, we kind of know the Democrats are going full DSA and have abandoned us early on, and we're losing a lot of MAGA Republicans too in a lot of respects, but you want to take a stand against the RNC, the Republicans generally? I, I think it does such a huge disservice to mischaracterize this fundraiser, to say this is a fundraiser for JD Vance.
His involvement with Tucker Carlson, what people have... are, are troubled about, including me, is that initially, yes, he was one of the investors in, uh, in the Tucker Carlson network, which got things going.
But it's important to remember that at the time of that investment, you know, Tucker, I think it was like 2024, l- you know, 2023, 2024 when it started, um, and he was...
