Nazi Germany

They would, they-- And this was, in many ways, what animated them was a sense of guilt.

And dim- ditto, because I, I, you know, for what we saw in West Germany with Baader-Meinhof and the Red Army Faction, which is that they would go back, 'cause it was still a living memory of the Third Reich, and they would say that this is the nature of our society and so forth, and that, you know, we're all on the west, you know, guilty, guilty, guilty and everything like that.

What I-- But what the point I agree with you is that in terms of the force for good, is that this is coming, especially in the American context, after the success of the Civil Rights Movement and the changes of, of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Act and Fair Housing Act and all of these things.

So what, what is, what the reality was is that the system had proven that it could change and that, you know, we were, that America w- it was changing for the better, and the radicals still saw it as implacably evil.

And anyone with any sense who has paid any attention at all, for example, to the history of the 20th century, knows perfectly well that a sensible person clearly admits to the existence of evil.

I mean, how else would you characterize what happened in Nazi Germany or in, in the S- in the Stalinist Soviet Union or in Maoist China or now in North Korea? I mean, if you don't think that's evil, then, well, then you don't Well, attribute the same meaning to the word that I attribute to it, let's say.

It's a stark reality.

And so you might add that to one of the stark realities that you have to confront, along with the contemplation of your own morality, is that you have to contend with the existence of malevolence.

And the Führer convoy at the end of the war were all these U-boats that left Hamburg, Germany.

And the last war of World War II, which we never hear about in our history books, was a resounding victory for the Third Reich, which never surrendered after World War II, nor did the SS, the Special Services Corps that were basically running the show with the Ahnenerbe Society and all the occultic research that they were doing in Tibet and Antarctica.

And so you have officers here with their own U-boat.

Here's U-530, which basically after the war was over, several months later in May of 1945, just shows up right outside of Buenos Aires, Argentina with a full crew, but with no supplies.

But this seemed to have been the last opportunity.

And so if I just go back to the slide showing, uh, the route under the ice, Frank pointed out that, um, the route goes right under the Troll Station.

And that is, uh, a station that is operated by Norway, which, uh, Norway was also part of the Third Reich and was one of the last, uh, countries to fall at the end of World War II, but also had a lot of U-boat, uh, ports in Norway.

And this, in this, uh, modern day is where these research stations are.

Um, I, I don't think he could use that for his American title apparently, but he mentioned that this was all related to eugenics.

And at the time, I mean, I am embarrassed to say, he said eugenics, and I thought, oh, um, Nazi Germany.

And I was like, "What?" I mean, I knew a bit about IBM and the history of, like, kind of catalog computing and how that inter- interfaced with the Holocaust, but I was sort of like, "What are, what are you talking about?" And I was, I didn't really even ask a follow-up question because I was like, "Okay," you know, [laughs] okay, crazy.

You know, like, like I was like, I just didn't, I ha- didn't know.

I've resolved, I have to love existence, and I have to love my fellow humans.

I have to love... our our innate need to go with the flow go with the crowd go with the herd go along with peer pressure you know and yet try to have a conversation that pierces the armor or the concrete to very educated folks who work either in the media or the government or in the medical industries who are hook, line, and sinker with the masks and the other protocols because they never had the habit or they lost the habit of thinking for themselves and just even imagining, questioning everything, even question, why do I believe what I believe? Nazi Germany in the 30s is a great parallel, I think, to what the world's going through right now.

And that happened incrementally.

And it's very, very instructive because folks are unthinkingly believing in authority for a number of reasons, not only because of blind worship of the educated, But if you're a Democrat or if you're left-leaning, well, now there's a lot that's persuaded such people that COVID is real because the Democrats and Joe Biden, quote unquote, espouse it.

You know, when push comes to shove, basically, I'm going to inform Washington that this issue is non-negotiable.

You know, so Cole, and of course, Belgrade went nuts and claimed that they claimed that Tujman and Cole were conspiring to develop a fourth Reich.

that, you know, NATO was supporting a Nazi client state of Germany in Croatia.

And, you know, the response from Zagreb was that, you know, we've abided every UN resolution that has been assigned to us in order to mitigate hostilities.

It was a mess, you know.

But the degree to which, too, Hitler was forced to kind of abide all these competing interests and all these conspiratorial designs of other essential allies, you know, whether you're talking about the Romanians, the Hungarians, or like Oduce himself, That's key to understanding why Ante Pavelic became the chief executive of the independent state of Croatia, because Pavelic was a very, very unusual guy, as we'll see in a minute.

And as I've emphasized before, because it's not a middling point, and it's important to emphasize because it's a rebuttal to a lot of the fallacious assertions in court history, The Third Reich wasn't trying to export fascism.

In fact, they were doing the opposite.

And I brought you safely without blood or toil...

They didn't want destabilizing regimes to pop up that had a shaky mandate, that were kind of blowing up the internal constitution of traditional German allies.

At least Italian fascists and adjacent right-wingers.

He was very good at this.

that fall published published what became a widely circulated um treaties really more than a brochure but less than like an actual book this ended up being widely circulated in the third reich especially in later years um which uh became significant um for various reasons but this this this this brochure of you what was called a salesman of the croatian state lasting peace in the balkans which was kind of like a summary of Croatian history, from kind of like the Habsburg German and adjacent Ustasa perspective.

The Italian authorities did not want to formally support the Ustasa, not just because, believe it or not at this time, and we made the point before, kind of like the zenith of this was, Mussolini presiding over the Four Powers Pact.

So many times we had an au pair that was from Germany.

And she ended up taking with her my book, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

I said, absolutely take it.

She said, I never knew this book existed.
