On today's Morning Edition, President Trump is coming to Alaska, and how the planning is underway. Hear how Wasilla is prepping for the presidential visit, and how long the POTUS will be in the state…
Well, our sunshine is not gonna stick around for very long today, unfortunately.
You might have an hour or two to enjoy it, but we are going to see some cloud cover beginning to arrive.
The good news is that most of our impacts that we felt already in the west and even in the Aleutian chain are significantly dying down for the day today, most of which have already passed.
But again, rain is moving in for South Central into the overnight hours for Anchorage.
And rain and winds are returning to the Gulf Coast region for today with another round of, uh, another front moving through as a result of this storm.
Now, as we track our forecast for the day today, we're really going to see the cloudiest skies for the afternoon hours.
As you start your day, you're likely to see a little bit more sunshine.
However, cloud cover will still be a factor in your morning.
High temperatures up to 48 degrees, and in Fairbanks, partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies in store for you today.
In southeast, holding on to yet another day of sunny skies, but in Bethel, that's where wind and rain continue to move through, uh, for the rest of your Friday.
Now, as we look ahead again, this is where we'll see the sunniest skies in areas like Prince William Sound, Valdez, Cordova, even into Whittier.
But we are likely to see partly cloudy to partly sunny skies as we start our morning in areas like Anchorage.
Even into the afternoon hours, you can really start to see more of this moisture starting to push into the Kenai Peninsula, but even for South Central as a whole.
But then by tomorrow morning, that's when we're likely to start off the day with some rainfall.
You can see that stretching across the entirety of South Central, but even the Chugach range and higher elevations are likely to see just a little bit of snowfall.
So that's kind of what's ahead even looking into our weekend.
Uh, but tracking some of our rainfall that we're likely to see later on today, you can see we stay mostly dry all the way into the evening hours, and then Kenai and Homer are likely to be the first spots that some of this rainfall starts to hit, and then even more rain starts to track through the region into tonight and even into tomorrow.
Now, as we look ahead for the rest of the day today, again, sunshine in store for much of southeast.
That's where temperatures are climbing into the 50s, and then we'll see cloud cover building through South Central.
