Amen.
Many times we have the mind that suffering comes to you when you have done something wrong, or when there's, um, a curse, then you suffer.
But in the Bible, the Christian suffers because of various reasons, and I want us to explore some of that.
Yes.
Now, some of us suffer, not because we are Christians, but because of our own disobedience.
Our own ways and sometimes those things let us suffer, and then we want to turn it as if we are suffering for Christ, but that's not what it is.
It says, "Let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God on this behalf." Amen.
So you can suffer as a murderer, and I'm sure many of us are saying, "Oh, as for murderer, it's far-fetched.
Uh, I'm not, I'm not in that category." But the Bible says, "He that hates his brother is a murderer." Yes.
So sometimes when you wallow in hatred, unforgiveness, bitterness, it makes you a murderer.
And when you wallow in bitterness and all that, it's you who suffers more than the perpetrator of whatever wrongdoing you think the person has done to you.
So in Hebrews 12, chap- chapter 12 verse 50, the Bible says, "Looking diligently, lest any of you fail of the grace of God, lest the roots of bitterness trouble you." Bitterness, first of all, troubles you before it even affects others.
