And then Sir Dave Brailsford introduced the philosophy of marginal gains, which is making hundreds of tiny improvements instead of searching for one big breakthrough.
The bike set up, I think, even down to small things like the screws that we used, tiny, tiny things that you wouldn't... really think about on the bike itself and on their clothing I think about stitching was even a tiny change that he made I
didn't know it went that far yeah it goes really deep I didn't know it was that deep at all
so they were very very tiny changes but he made tons of them and And even, I think he painted the workshop white so dust could be spotted more easily.
So none of those changes on their own would have made a tiny bit of difference.
But collectively, they absolutely transformed the team's performance from an average team to Olympic champions.
