When, when, when I think of a block, the block universe and slices of space at a moment in time, that is indeed from the perspective of some observer, some reference frame.

Uh, and so, you know, all points on a particular slice for that observer, you know, if that's your, if that's their present moment, their now, then all points on that slice are happening simultaneously at that moment.

Hell of a teammate

I was looking on LinkedIn.

I was looking on Indeed.

I was looking what's available.

And I so wanted to do something different, but it was like I wasn't finding anything.

And there are other, other types of inspections.

Once I started doing this, I went on to Indeed or LinkedIn.

I was looking at some jobs on there and I found an inspection job.

So I'm going to look for other platforms to see what I can come up with.

Well, once I applied on Indeed's website, I started getting daily inspection-related jobs.

And so I've picked up two or three other opportunities for the types of inspections that I do and have reached out to those companies and applied with them.

Not that I want more work.

So the GM wages, I'm going to go ahead and include like the cost of me flying out there.

I'm going to include the cost of the Indeed ads.

I'm going to include the wages for like a month or so of the general manager.

So it's got to be at least $15,000.

when I take all that into consideration.

Again, I'm talking about running the Indeed ads, me traveling down there with my wife for a couple of days, and then also the general manager's wages for the first month.

So they're GM wages.

Okay, another one we kind of glanced over is equipment.

No, no.

I needed to get on Indeed immediately and become a receptionist at UW Health.

Thanks to Instagram, I also have several other promising career paths to consider.

Because apparently if I watch enough videos of someone doing something I have absolutely no business doing, eventually my brain goes, you know what? I think we would be really good at this.

Want to try it with me? And then I started looking differently at all the random things I've learned how to do over the past 20 years.

Not as evidence that I can't pick a lane.

Not as a weird resume that doesn't fit neatly into the little boxes on Indeed.

as an actual body of work.

If it's a one page kind of entryway into your ATS job search, AI is not going to have much to say other than what your company does.

I think the thing that I've been looking at most is not just the career site, but in general, if you prompt AI to talk about your employer brand, what does it come up with and what does it say? And more often than not, it's pulling in sources from Indeed and Glassdoor and Reddit, and it's pulling all of those things in because career sites are not specific or robust enough to provide that information.

Yeah, they just don't have that stuff.

Yeah.

And it's something that, you know, I've been encouraging a lot of employers to pay attention to.

I think, you know, if, if your job descriptions still have that kind of language, where it's vague, it's generic, it says, you know, flexible schedule, or, you know, competitive compensation, what AI does is it'll either say it can't find information, Or more often, it just pulls what it can find.

And what it can find is conversations on Reddit, reviews on Glassdoor, reviews on Indeed.

And so as an employer, you're really putting a lot of weight into what past employees, current employees say about you.

For us in the Midwest, farmers, you know, when the seasonal work hits, you need to have some extra hands.

And so maybe that's through online postings like Indeed, or maybe that's through word of mouth people that you know.

You find extra hands to help out with the work.

And so this landowner goes to the marketplace where there's people gathered looking for employment opportunities.

So very grateful that they have been willing to be helpful and encouraging and all of that with this process.

And so after several months of bombarding companies with applications and resumes and hours and hours spent trolling through Indeed and LinkedIn and all these different job boards.

I decided that I would try a different strategy because the strategy that I was currently trying to implement wasn't working.

So I made the decision one day.
