On this date in history, all the way back in 1871, the Great Chicago Fire began when, according to legend, Mrs. O'Leary's cow kicked over a lantern in her barn.

And it, it really affected the, uh, like, I said, like, the architecture, I guess the design of Chicago.

We've been there, and if you walk through Chicago, you, like, a lot of buildings are brick now, and there's, like, s- areas, like neighborhoods, that were destroyed by the fire where you can, like, see a difference in the way the buildings were built between them and the ones next to them.

It was a very, a tragic thing, the fire, but it's interesting how it, like, did kind of shape the city, uh, into the future, you know? All right.

And on this date in 1944, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet made its debut on CBS Radio.
