Khris Middleton resigned with the Washington Wizards for 3 years and 17.6 million dollars on a deal that sees Y2 partially guaranteed and Y3 non-guaranteed. Middleton spent the beginning of the…
Um... uh free agent chris milton assigned to a three-year 17.6 million dollar deal and i've signed in trade um i don't know how this affects the cap i assume this is probably one of our more like this is probably like not that we had much to do in free agency anyways but if this probably puts the cap on it um just strictly off money three years 17 million that's really not shit i mean what that's how many how much annually like six now a little bit more than six a little Um, or a little less than six annually it'd be.
So the money's not really hurting you at all.
Um, cool on the money.
That's something like, and I'm curious what like the actual, like, is it a team option? Is it a player option? Is it like non-guaranteed because he is old, right? So I'm curious how that looks.
But, uh, I gotta be honest, my initial reaction, I like it because I enjoyed Chris's stint with us.
I thought he was good with us.
And I think it's a vet in the locker room, a cheap vet at that.
You kind of add some depth.
Um, let me get wizards film room up because he was, he was the first tweet that I saw about the, about the signing.
And, and you mentioned that, uh, it's going to take minutes away from the, uh, from some of the young guys.
And I don't necessarily disagree, uh, But I mean, it's an interesting point, but I'm just curious, like, and I tweeted this is my one of my initial reactions is like, how does he fit in? It's like the actual like playing rotation.
Is this like something where it's like, is he going to come in and like they're going to expect him to be like off the bench, like really play like like not heavy minutes, but like a bench roll for us.
Right.
And I think like that moves everyone down the totem pole.
And that's already a totem pole of wings.
I was already kind of crowded, like the way I look at it.
And even I was like, before we picked up Middleton, I was kind of of the opinion like, I think Champagny deserves to play minutes.
I think Bilal is obviously going to play minutes.
I think you can make the case that John Muir Watkins has to play minutes.
Cam Whitmore, I'm not the biggest fan, but for what it's worth, he's still on the roster.
So that's five names right there who kind of fit in that forward mold.
And now you're adding an older Chris Middleton.
It's like, what was this film about pointed out is how does that affect your rotation, right? Is he going to be like, just move everyone down the totem pole a little bit? Because at the end of the day, like, and I mentioned this a lot when like vets come into the conversation is like, these guys have bravado.
