Microsoft's latest Windows event left even diehard enthusiasts scratching their heads, with new AI-powered hardware and "RTX Spark" PCs getting top billing but little clear reason for anyone to buy…
But they actually talked about, like, 127 different things, and it was very confusing.
In fact, if you're not con- if you weren't confused by this, um, you might wanna see a psychiatrist, but also, um, look at the description for the video on the YouTube and look at the, the table of contents, and you could just see it goes all over the place.
Like, it just goes back and forth, like it's like a, a ping ball, a, a ping pong of just topics, you know? Um-
... we knew that there was gonna be a Surface Laptop Alter element to it, uh, s- that being their RTX, uh, Spark computer.
Nvidia was gonna be part of it, so we're probably gonna talk about the NX1 and these RTX Spark computers, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
Um, but I, I'm gonna just draw a, uh, what for many people's gonna be an uncomfortable comparison, which is that two and a half years ago, Microsoft launched a platform called Copilot+ PC that everyone seems to hate.
And, um, and yes, I mean, I, uh, it is a, a matter of history that the first big end user feature they talked about and the marquee feature for Copilot+ PC for maybe the first year, even though, by the way, it has still to this moment never exited preview, is, was Recall, which immediately became controversial.
Um, and that one of the problems with Copilot+ PC is that you have these features scattered around the OS that are, uh, sit outside of OS versions or, um, product editions and so forth.
And if you, if you have a computer that qualifies, you get these things, but you can't, like, point to any one of them and be like, "Oh, yeah, this is why you buy this thing." It's, it's more like the, the combination of all these things, um, is, is what makes this thing kinda valuable.
