Windows UI Library

Boy.

Um, it's native, uh, it's WinUI, um, et cetera, et cetera.

So but here's the good news, at least for now.

Um, normally these kinds of things, they'll have, like, a little sale and then it goes up to what price.

So I do think that's sort of a miss.

And I really hope, because I've been using the MAUI agent and the WinUI agent and their plugins nonstop.

And they're very, very good.

You know, I don't have to ever really worry about figuring out craziness with collection views because like they it just figures it out.

But, um, I don't, I don't have it, uh, on this computer, but I do have the shot that Microsoft provided.

So this will be a standard, what they call WinUI or WinUI 3, uh, dialog, modern looking, centered in the middle of the screen normally.

Um, the other big deal is that if you miss this for some reason, right, because these things time out, um, this, a notification with this information on it will appear in the notification center, which is this thing over here, right? So, uh, notifications all appear in here.

This is how they're supposed to appear.

So, um, same basic...

I think I can bring that up.

Yeah, so same icon, but a streamli- a streamlined WinUI 3 style, um, interface.

So nice.

So, um- [laughs] ... it's not super, not super well documented or- Yeah ... widespread or whatever, but okay, that's fine.

Um, I think the new run dialogue, like, the WinUI based run dialogue, um, you know, Windows key plus R. I, I sometimes feel like I'm the only person on earth that uses this feature.

I use it all the [laughs] time.

But, um, if, I think that one might be...

But the thing is, like, you know, so you hear, like Microsoft's like, "Okay, we're gonna update all these legacy UIs.

We're gonna use WinUI," which is the most modern stack.

I'm not saying it's great, but whatever-

Yeah

But, um, Microsoft, some years ago, I can't remember anymore when this happened, but, you know, they have these legacy frameworks like, uh, Windows Forms and, uh, WPF, Windows Presentation Foundation, um, that they open source, right? Which is like, like yeah, it's like, like a nice thing to do for that stuff.

And so the community can contribute to these things, can improve them, et cetera, et cetera.

And so they've kind of let, uh, Win- well, they're calling it WinUI now.

So this is like Windows App SDK plus WinU- what used to be WinUI 3 essentially, right?
