It's one of those things where people throw sharp objects at me, at least rhetorically, when they hear that.
I think when it comes to actual death, that even the Old Testament had it one way, eye for an eye.
So I don't believe it's godly to say that a human can make a decision to take somebody's life.
I'm really back and forth on it because in some aspects, too, then you're giving the government ultimate power.
That having been said, I think the idea that we're done playing footsie with people who are our sworn enemies, there's an important message in what's being sent here.
I'm just saying philosophically, I'm going to be consistent and not be for the death penalty.
And that is to say, if you mean to do us harm, as in the United States of America, and any of our citizens, as in harm one hair on their head, this is what can happen to you.
