Uganda Beyond the Safari with Lynett Nakamanya

Okay, so you went to university, you got into tourism.

Can you tell us a little bit more about Uganda tourism? So I'll be honest, so I, I mentioned earlier before we started recording that I lived in Africa for a bit.

But one place that I have not been to is Uganda, and it was actually pretty fun preparing for this interview, because I kind of did some research about Uganda.

One, it is gorgeous.

Like, the pictures were so beautiful.

Um, and there's so much to do.

Like, there is a lot to do.

Yeah.

There's a lot of, like, adventure travel.

Um, but anyway, you're the expert, so I will let you tell us.

Um, yeah, tell us a little bit about Uganda tourism industry.

So one thing for people to note is Uganda isn't a very, very, very big country.

It's usually compared to some states in the US, you know? It's not very big.

But even with its size, it's literally a melting point of, of wildlife, you know, of wildlife, of culture, of tr- of, of the weather.

Because we are crossed by the equator, all year round we are having this beautiful sunshine and rain.

So we never have winter, summer, spring.

No, all year round it's raining, it's shining.

So you would never need AC while in Uganda.

Because of that, we are the food basket of Africa, so we have fresh fruits and vegetables all year round.

You'd never have to stock or freeze any fruit or vegetable, 'cause we have it being produced all year round.

We're literally, we have the biggest quantity of fresh water in Africa, because we have three lakes, and we have a big portion of the fresh w- water lake, which is Lake Victoria, the biggest fresh water lake in Africa.

So we have fresh water on this lake.

There are islands, over 86 islands, every island unique and different.

And you see I'm talking about all these things.

I've not even gone to the wildlife, which is we are m- which we are mainly known for, which is the safaris, the primates, the gorillas, the chimpanzees.
