Volume Zero back at it again with Episode 6 and the FIRST episode of our second series on the podcast "COMIC COVERS". In this series the guys will take comic book and go through the story with you and…
It's my favorite, so obviously I hold this story very highly.
And the reason, to me it's, there's obviously some flaws.
I don't think it's 100% perfect.
But to me, it's a five out of five.
And, oh, how can you say it's a five out of five if it has flaws? And genuinely, the only flaw that this book has, in my opinion, is that I just wish it was longer.
Okay.
Thank you.
That's generally the only thing that I knock from it because I think the story that it's trying to tell is amazing.
It's insane.
And I'm also, for lack of a better term, a slut for this type of story that is so... how do I say it's a little pretentious in what it's trying to say in the sense of like oh it's like religious allegory and all this stuff and I'm not even religious like that but I like how it uses the bible as like a backdrop for what's happening with superheroes
then
like a
backdrop it's like a Yeah,
because he's a preacher.
But even then, like I love when you first flip the page and the first panel that you get, it's like they're talking about Armageddon.
Yeah.
And then you have these figures and you think they're angels talking about fire and brimstone.
Exactly.
So then when you flip the pages, what you think it was just the image of angels because it's like black and red, it actually ends up being the same panel.
these I thought that was bigger than life characters exactly as these like biblical sort of figures not figures but like beings and I was like oh my god and it's almost like I'm gonna sound like I'm blazing but it's almost like Shakespearean in a way and like the way that like um it just like it tackles these like philosophical concepts a comic book and i love the way that it's handled i love the way that it's handled and like i said there's only some aspects of it that i'm like i wish you got to know more about this world and i know we're going to talk about it later like things like what's going on with the flash what's his view why does he look like that same thing with green lantern like why is it alan scott where's hal and where's john or or anything like that and there's just so much of it there's a lot of like the end exactly it's like the end sort of so it's like there's so much of this world that we don't know about and I would have loved to see more I
was so confused about the Alan Scott thing yes I was like isn't he supposed to be the first
Green Lantern so what is going on here I don't know I don't know I should have probably looked up cause that's what I did with The Flash like I looked up like like that.
And that's when I found out that apparently he's Wally, Jay, and Barry merged together because they're connected through the speed force and things like that.
yeah
