LukeHOST
4:17
They took influences from the comic, American Alien.
JasonHOST
4:23
The two Batman films that they had, was it The Long Halloween? That was part of, that wasn't it? Yeah,
LukeHOST
4:27
and they released parts one and two as a deluxe, and I believe that's the one that you got on Blu-ray.
LukeHOST
4:33
That's the one I got on

12 MINS LATER

LukeHOST
16:11
Well, now you can buy the Crysis trilogy for pretty much the same price as one of the single parts of Crysis.
LukeHOST
16:19
So I'm going to wait on the Nightfall trilogy on Blu-ray.
JasonHOST
16:24
Well, that's what happened with the Long Halloween Deluxe, whatever they called it.
JasonHOST
16:28
Like, it was...
TylerHOST
65:54
They had different writers.
TylerHOST
65:56
But I'm pretty sure they had the same writer for both parts of Long Halloween.
TylerHOST
66:01
Yeah.
TylerHOST
66:02
so i'm just kind of curious and maybe we'll find out more once uh we get the trailer fall part two but letter grades real quick solomon what what do you give it as a letter grade
Ewan PatersonHOST
27:01
So-
Scott TailfordHOST
27:01
I just did, um, it's not Absolute, but I just did The Long Halloween, which I absolutely loved.
Ewan PatersonHOST
27:04
Oh, nice.
Scott TailfordHOST
27:05
Um, it's taken me this long to read that, but-
Scott TailfordHOST
27:12
Okay, I, um, his artwork is now my favorite artwork for Batman.
Ewan PatersonHOST
27:16
Mm-hmm.
Scott TailfordHOST
27:16
Love, loved The Long Halloween.
Ewan PatersonHOST
27:18
Mm-hmm.
GriffeyHOST
3:09
We're starting our new studio.
GriffeyHOST
3:11
We've grabbed an IP, and we are going to give birth to the next movie in some known IP, right? Be that Texas Chainsaw, Halloween, Phantasm, Tremors, whatever it is.
GriffeyHOST
3:22
Here are the rules of the game.
GriffeyHOST
3:23
We'll kind of go through and nitpick and discuss.
GriffeyHOST
3:43
That's fair unless you want to put your stank on it.
SamHOST
3:45
That's true.
SamHOST
3:46
Maybe we want him directing the next Halloween.
GriffeyHOST
3:49
Maybe that's true.
Zach WilkersonHOST
7:39
Okay, so I think the reason that one's not in there, Brian, is because this other...
Zach WilkersonHOST
7:43
There was a DC Comics box set that preceded this one, and that's the stock image I'm seeing, and it's got Watchmen, New Frontier, Long Halloween, All-Star Superman, Kingdom Come, and something else.
Zach WilkersonHOST
7:54
So that's probably why it's not in there.
Brian SalvatoreHOST
7:56
That makes more sense then.
Jamie JirakHOST
25:22
immediately.
Jenna AndersonHOST
25:24
i also think like piggybacking off of the long halloween of it all like even then the batman is not just a single adaptation of anything like it's taking so many different pieces and storylines and just like general sentiments of batman comics and kind of just mushing it all together and i feel like that's going to be the case here even then like matt reeves has so many external influences of like the first one was very heavily inspired by like the new hollywood kind of like dramas and stuff like that And so I feel like we're going to get like a different sort of frame of reference here of like what the tangible like external inspirations are.
Jenna AndersonHOST
25:56
And they might not be things that, you know, superhero Twitter that just wants everything to be merged are going to necessarily think of.
Jenna AndersonHOST
26:01
But like they still will make for a very interesting movie at the end of the day.
JoshHOST
6:08
did not see that one
SageGUEST
6:10
Part of it's that it was that's a big sort of epic right of a book and they squeezed it all into one movie and It really suffers for it because you have to speed run that plot so hard Long Halloween fared a little better.
SageGUEST
6:24
That was split into two.
SageGUEST
6:25
I actually thought that one was pretty decent but Splitting this into three.

15 MINS LATER

SageGUEST
21:41
There have been some other good ones in between.
SageGUEST
21:44
to, but they are inconsistent in general.
JoshHOST
21:47
Actually, they did Long Halloween.
JoshHOST
21:51
Yeah, that
DreHOST
5:25
... have some more recent, more recent, more relevant, and I would probably even say more interesting stories.
TaylorHOST
5:30
They did that, they did The Long Halloween already, right?
DreHOST
5:33
Yeah.
DreHOST
5:33
They did The Long Halloween.
TaylorHOST
5:34
Yeah.
DreHOST
5:35
I-
TaylorHOST
5:46
Yeah
DreHOST
5:46
...
Joe ButlerPANELIST
79:47
That is fair.
Tiffany AlbertinHOST
79:48
You loved The Long Halloween, Ken.
Joe ButlerPANELIST
79:50
Still have not seen that.
Tiffany AlbertinHOST
79:51
Did you fucking not?
Tiffany AlbertinHOST
80:05
Yeah.
Bill TuckerGUEST
80:05
Oof.
Joe ButlerPANELIST
80:06
Well, DC, DC animated The Long Halloween, killed Ken's parents in a dark alley.
Tiffany AlbertinHOST
80:11
It did.
Zach DeanHOST
63:17
I just want to say, we've said it a million times, but it might be the single thing that I think DC, or DC, that Marvel is the absolute worst at seeing DC's success and being like, nah, not for us, is not creating standalone books that are not deeply enmeshed in continuity.
Zach DeanHOST
63:38
Or even if they are in continuity, like, you know, just DC is so much easier to hand a million, you know, Batman comics or original graphic novels or, you know, The Long Halloween and Year One and The Killing Joke.
Zach DeanHOST
63:51
That's just for Batman.
Zach DeanHOST
63:52
There's, like, every big hero has a bunch of really good standalones.
