Orion

But, you know, I had connections because I remember I think of that.

third wave i mean we'll probably get into it but i know i got orion and uh samurai when when i was a kid and samurai i remembered from the super friends but then orion i was like well who is this guy but he kind of looked like many faces he kind of had a cool feature where when you you know it wasn't just the simple you know they were they were trying to what raise things up a notch with the gimmick because you know it's like okay you you press their legs together and they punch right well but Orion still did that.

You pressed his legs together and he, an action, you know, his hands, his arms moved around and did that kind of stuff.

But then on top of that, his face went from being a handsome young gentleman to a, you know, monstrous, angry, you know, apocalyptic and, uh, demon type visage or whatever.

There's a spectral torso of Highfather at left, and another of Darkseid with arms crossed at right.

In the lower third, there are full figures of charitably 20% of the cover.

Orion is in his astral harness at left, Mr.

Miracle on aerodiscs at right.

There was no way you weren't going to buy it.

And I think one of the biggest misses in the Jack Kirby run is Orion's costume sucked.

It was just basically like a red tunic.

It was nothing special.

And what happens in Return of the New Gods is there's a succession of events that lead to Darkseid's resurrection, then death, and then another resurrection.

Okay.

Uh, and this was the first time, even though the new gods was a team title in name, it basically was with Jack Kirby, Orion's book.

Um, but when you got to Jack, when you got to Jerry Conway writing, it was much more of a team.

[laughs] 'Cause that's how Target operates.

McFarlane showed off their Orion versus Darkseid two-pack.

The pre-order is up now.

What do you, what do you think of this two-pack?

Um, love the concept of it.

I don't really care for the Orion.

I get that the, the look does kind of have like a pretty good Jack Kirby to it.

I think the Darkseid's worth getting though.
