Um, I thought all along that the right approach was to salvage McCarthy, give him every opportunity to contribute, even if it was as a career backup, to contribute in some way as a functioning member of this team.

I also blame McCarthy for being not a competitor, you know? He, he didn't really put up much of a fight against Kyler Murray for the starting job, and then he didn't even play in the third preseason game.

And I, and if you're trading this guy for a fifth-round draft pick before the season starts when you have two injury-prone quarterbacks ahead of him, is...
... how b- big of a f- how bright of a future they believe that he has and, and all of these things, but what this deal says is that they were done with him.
Is that they, they could not have him around anymore, because not only did you only get a fifth-round pick for him, but you also made that move when Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz have not been particularly sharp.
If Kyler Murray would have come into this season, um, certainly, and even in, in preseason, after being named the starter, really grabbed hold of the job and been like, "Okay, yeah, we've got our guy here.
But their quarterback play has been underwhelming at best and terrible at worst sometimes in this season already, and yet they are still punting on this f- former first-round draft pick, still very, very young quarterback.
We'll find out in the long run here if that was the right decision, but that, that is the decision, that's the message they're sending right now.
