STILL MOVING FORWARD | PAUL DAUGHERTY | FORWARD SERIES PT. 1

Philippians chapter

3,

verse 12.

Paul the Apostle says this.

He says, not that I've already obtained or achieved these things.

Not that I've already reached perfection.

By the way, Paul was old at this point.

And I don't mean like really old.

I just mean he was no longer in his 20s, 30s, or 40s, or 50s.

You know, I'm not saying if you're in your 60s, you're old.

I'm just saying...

You're young, you're young.

I was talking to an awesome man out in the lobby.

He's like, I'm 64 and I feel younger than ever.

I was like, let's go.

And here's the point.

I think age is just a number.

I think you can actually be 18 but have an old mindset.

You can also be 74 and have a young, fresh mindset.

It's all in the mind.

And today we're starting a brand new series called Forward.

Everybody say Forward.

Forward.

The title of the message today is Still Moving Forward.

Still, tell the person, we're still moving forward.

Come on, even when the sound goes out, we're still moving forward.

Even when the lights go out, we're still moving forward.

Even when heartbreak happens, we're still moving forward.

But that's your choice.

I can't say that you're still moving forward.

I can say that I'm still moving forward.

You get to determine what direction you're going.

Some of you have walked through pain, heartbreak, rejection, loss, failure, or even success.

And success becomes an enemy of forward motion because people who get successful, all of a sudden they start thinking, yeah, I'm going to retire with how far I've come.

I've done a lot.

I've accomplished a lot.

I've reached my goals.

So from here on, I'm just going on autopilot, and I'm not really moving forward.

In fact, I'm just going to sit still for the next 30 years of my life.

But I believe if there's breath in your lungs, God's not done with you yet.

Amen.

That God wants you moving forward.

Even if you may not be going back to work at your job, God has an assignment for you spiritually.

That God always wants you to keep growing.
