So funding has been a challenge for us, but now we are in a good position.
So because this type of technology was traditionally, um, limited to research.
So, uh, for a lot of investors when they look at competitors and others they are like, "This seems like not yet ready." Because if the technology is too early for the market then it can have to ...
You might have to wait for uncertain long period of time, right? So but now that there is this industry use cases, not just this one but also others for micro optics, nano optics and waveguides.
Uh, I think now is getting better and then also now the Hong Kong government has that RACE+ funding like I mentioned.
Because for such deep tech startups, even some of our friendly startup like, you know, friends who are, uh, also Hong Kong startups, deep tech hardware startups, they ...
... um, at the district level, state level as well specifically for, um, for deep tech startups which are spinoffs from universities.
In the EU, in the European Union there is a very good, uh, government grant system which I was discussing with another, uh, professor friend from the business school and [clears throat] they have specifically filled that gap of let's say zero to 2 or 3 million US dollars that you need for hardware startups to prove like, like, like to test the hypothesis whatever is their use case hypothesis, the business idea, right? To test it itself takes a couple of million at least, maybe five.
So they fill that gap and then Hong Kong has started to introduce with RACE+ exactly the same, uh, kind of approach to solve for that gap for deep tech startups.
