[upbeat music] Unknown attackers have shot and killed radio broadcaster Adrian Loterte in the Philippines, making him the sixth journalist murdered in the Catholic majority country this year.
Police say two gunmen on a motorcycle fired multiple shots at Loterte on 12 October at his bakery.
Loterte anchored Rabas kun Rabas for RBN News television and was an independent producer for DWIZ FM radio.
He died after being rushed to a local hospital.
Police Regional Office Five has formed a special task force to uncover the motive, though the attackers remain unidentified.
The Albay chapter of the Association of Broadcasters of the Philippines condemned the murder, stressing that violence against media professionals cannot be tolerated.
Ricky Bautista, a veteran journalist with the Media Citizen Council, demanded immediate arrests, urging law enforcement to step up or step aside.
This follows the 14 July killing of a Cotabato City broadcast technician and the 19 April death of community journalist Nicolo Ledesma.
Reporters Without Borders highlights the severe risks for radio broadcasters, noting eighty-nine deaths since 1986.
Joe Torres of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security urged a thorough investigation.
