So with the chairs, we adjust everything else in the room to the thing that is the heaviest and most immovable.

On Monday, they're gonna move, then they're gonna look different on Monday night, different on Tuesday, different on Wednesday, different on Thursday, sometimes different on Friday or Saturday or Sunday depending upon what ...

If we wanna tweak the room and make it look different, the stage [laughs] does not get moved.

The chairs get shifted around, and everything adjusts to the stage 'cause this is heavy, and those are not.

When it comes to your finances and when it comes to the money that you spend, you invest, that you make, you sow, you bless others with it, I wonder is the, is the parts of your budget more like the chairs, or are there any parts of your budget that are more like the stage, that are so heavy, so immovable, that they are what everything else in your financial plan, everything else in your budget orients itself off of and responds to it? Because for almost everybody I know, including myself, the pile of things that I want to spend money on is much larger than the pile of money that I actually have.

And I'm like, "I don't even have 37 things that could go in my car." You know? Like, of course I want to get every single one of the T-shirts that M- that my Instagram says that I can't live without.

So what do I do? Which, which parts of my budget are chairs, and which parts of my budget is stage, is so heavy I can't move it? 'Cause if nothing's weighty, if nothing's the stage, if nothing's secure, if nothing's immovable in your budget, how do you pick what to spend any money on if nothing is heavy, if nothing's weighty, if nothing's orienting the way that you live? That, my friends, is the genius of generosity.

'Cause when you begin where God's called you to begin, everything else will start naturally falling into place.

You know, we normally do sermon series on finances either two or three weeks, and it's always the last week that we actually get to talking about any kind of giving because we spend the first couple weeks talking about your heart and your life so much, and this one's no different.
