Christianity has no shortage of critics. The intellectual problem is that a great many of them have never read the Bible for themselves, let alone examined its claims. They say things like “The Bible cannot be trusted, it was written by men, and has been corrupted by multiple translations throughout history," or “Modern science has proven the Bible is not true.” First, I want you know that I am not judging you. I have often said; “If you have never doubted, you have never seriously thought. Wondering if the claims of the Bible are true is not a rebellious question. It is a responsible one. You don’t need to turn your brain off to believe the Bible is the Word of God. I want to give you three tests by which we can examine the authenticity of the Scriptures: 1\. A Historical Test - A Reliable Record 2\. A Prophetic Test - A Revealed Future 3\. An Intellectual Test - A Risen Redeemer Key Scriptures used in today’s teaching: 2 Peter 1:16-21 Other Scriptures referenced in this teaching: John 20:30-31; Micah 5:2; Zechariah 9:9; Zechariah 11; Psalm 22; Isaiah 53.
