Episode #50: The Inspiration Gifts

How does the Holy Spirit speak through His people? And how can believers recognize Spirit-inspired utterance while remaining firmly grounded in Scripture, humility, and biblical order? In Episode 50 of They Call Her Mother: Faith, Family & Legacy, presented through The Amenra Kingdom Institute, Minister Aisha Amenra continues The Gifts of the Holy Spirit series with The Inspiration Gifts — How Does the Holy Spirit Speak to Strengthen the Church? Following our study of the Revelation Gifts and Power Gifts, we now examine the final category of the nine manifestations recorded in 1 Corinthians 12: Prophecy, Divers Kinds of Tongues, and the Interpretation of Tongues. Unlike the Revelation Gifts, through which God reveals what could not be known naturally, or the Power Gifts, which demonstrate His supernatural ability, the Inspiration Gifts involve Spirit-inspired utterance. Their purpose is not spiritual performance, personal recognition, or confusion. They are given to edify, encourage, comfort, and strengthen the Body of Christ. Mother establishes three essential Kingdom truths: the Inspiration Gifts exist to edify the Church rather than exalt individuals; every inspired utterance must agree with the written Word of God; and the Holy Spirit brings order, clarity, and edification—not confusion—to the worship of God's people. This episode explores Prophecy as Spirit-inspired speech that builds up, exhorts, and comforts believers while remaining subject to Scripture. Mother also explains the important distinction between the gift of prophecy and the ministry office of a prophet. We then examine Divers Kinds of Tongues as supernatural utterance given by the Holy Spirit, including its biblical purpose and proper operation within public worship. Finally, Interpretation of Tongues demonstrates God's desire for understanding by making the meaning of a public message in tongues known so the entire congregation may be strengthened. Through A Mother's Memory, Minister Aisha reflects on raising ten children and learning that words can either build courage or create discouragement. Whether correcting a child, comforting someone who is hurting, teaching from a pulpit, or speaking across a kitchen table, the principle remains the same: our words should leave people stronger than we found them. This episode challenges us to ask: Are my words building others up? Do I test spiritual messages against Scripture? Am I seeking spiritual gifts to serve others or to be noticed? And does what I say consistently point people toward Jesus Christ? In this episode: The purpose of the Inspiration Gifts in strengthening the Church. Why every Spirit-inspired utterance must agree with Scripture. Why the Holy Spirit brings order, clarity, and edification. What New Testament prophecy is and how it differs from the office of a prophet. The biblical purpose of Divers Kinds of Tongues. Why public tongues should be accompanied by interpretation. How Interpretation of Tongues brings understanding to the Church. Why spiritual gifts should never become instruments of recognition or superiority. How everyday words can reflect the heart and character of Christ. Listen, reflect, and remember: the greatest evidence of the Holy Spirit's work is not extraordinary speech—it is a life that faithfully proclaims and reflects Jesus Christ. Next time, we bring this series together by exploring how all nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit work together, how they should function in love according to 1 Corinthians 13, and why spiritual character must always govern spiritual gifts.
