Judea

AND I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY HOW IT HAPPENED, BUT APPARENTLY, HE WAS JUST OUT IN THE DESERT JUST PREACHING, REPENT, AND BE BAPTIZED FOR THE REMISSION OF YOUR SINS.

AND APPARENTLY, SOMEBODY PASSING BY GOT TOUCHED AND THEY WENT AND TOLD ANOTHER PERSON, And pretty soon, these verses right here will say that all of Judea came out to be baptized of John.

Now, when it says that all of them did, it doesn't mean every single person because we know that the scribes and the Pharisees didn't turn out.

Uh, sometimes they turned out to mock him, but not all of the people came out.

It was just saying that, that there was a large percentage, probably the majority of the people in Judea came out to hear John the Baptist.

And when you think that he started in the desert, he didn't go to where the people were.

He just started preaching and God drew people to him.

And he came down with them.

This is with Jesus coming down with the disciples and stood on a level place with a crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all of Judea and Jerusalem and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon.

And what were they all doing there? It says, who came to hear him and be healed of their diseases.

These are two separate accounts of people choosing, making a choice between to believe in their own self that if I go and if I get to hear these powerful words that Jesus has to say, I can also be healed of my diseases by him.

And then the average settler who's maybe, I'm sure many of them, even if they're not violent, would be ideologically driven.

This is Judea and Samaria.

God gave us the land.

We're occupying it.

That's the ultimate conclusion of this project.

And so if you're going to tell if you're going to tell the settlers from 48 that they can live in anywhere, but that you can't, that the other the settlers from 67 can't live in the heartland.

Well, then actually the only people that are acting logically are the settlers who understand that there's no difference between Tel Aviv and Judea and Samaria.

They're at least being honest about

This is why when the Romans took over Israel, they renamed Israel on purpose.

So the name Judea is not the original name of Israel.

Israel was both divided into two places, Israel and Judah.

but they changed the name to Judea.

So Judea is Roman.

The Romans named it Judea.

Number two, they named that entire region of the Canaanites and the Israelites, because of former Canaanite land, with the Philistines, they named the entire region Palestine.

So all those things are Roman names.

And the Jews

came from? Judea.

Judea.

Yes.

So take a clue from that.

It was Jordan stole it, basically.

Oh, Jordan annexed it unlawfully.

Were they the colonizers? But so if you go back to the 67 borders, who do you give that back to? Judea, Samaria, the West Bank, East Jerusalem.

Whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

In the context of this teaching, Jesus has sent his disciples out into Judea to call people to repentance and faith in him.

And he tells the disciples that they will be hated.

and persecuted for this message.

although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples.

So he left Judea, and he went back once more to Galilee.

Now he had to go through Samaria, so he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.

Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, note, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well.

hopefully well-known verse here, Jesus Christ speaking to his apostles after his resurrection.

And he says in verse 8, But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and in Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

So, first question is, Have we received power? And what is that power? What were they going to receive? The Holy Spirit.

And not just coming upon them, but coming within them.

I will find you, you know, those kinds of...

And so I love this Trinitarian story that the Jewish people, the Palestinian people, the Judean people would have heard that first one about the lost sheep and would have been like...

Yeah, I get that.

And the same way they who didn't have any money, be like when you lose your wallet, like the coin is like losing your $50 bill, like not your $1 bill, but your I can't eat this week because I lost my money kind of bill.
