We get together on the UK Airshow review Podcast to actually review some UK airshows! We are joined by fellow UKARian Gordon Duncan to chat about Antidotum Leszno Airshow, the Florennes Air Show and…
I attended the 2026 edition of the Antidotum Leszno Airshow, which is in Poland, which is about an hour's train south of Poznań in western Poland.
It's an air show that has been around for quite a long time.
Well, quite a long time, not at all.
Probably about 10 years or so.
Obviously, that covers the COVID period as well.
And it started out originally just as a gliding picnic, basically, but has since grown into a fully-fledged international air show.
Now, a few years ago, I've been looking at going for a few years because actually a friend of mine, Jacek, is one of the organisers, and he's been pushing me to go for quite a long time.
and I've never really got around to it because it's always clashed with something and it's always looked like an amazing show that for many years was punching above its weight I think probably now it's actually punching at its weight because I think it's just grown to an international stature that it's become well known enough that it's attracting a lot of big names and also international audience as well and And it's always had great lineups.
It's always been a very sort of Polish spotter-friendly kind of show in reputation.
Famous for having a night show, sunset element to the show, and then a full-fledged night show as well.
It was actually the first air show in Poland to do so.
um i finally got around to going this year um and it was a very interesting experience i'm going to start out by sounding like it's going to be quite a negative review which it's not um it's actually a very very positive review but but it unfortunately compared with previous years so last year's was an absolute blinder by all accounts This year's was an unbelievably cursed show.
On paper, a few weeks before the show, it had an incredible lineup of stars.
So it had the flying bulls, the bear cat that we mentioned in the last episode was down for it.
Yeah.
uh i'm trying to think some of the other stuff i mean the a26 invader was down for the show um there were i can't remember all the things off the top of my head but basically in a couple of weeks before the show they were just hit with a really unfortunate run of cancellations of kind of what were all of all or most of the highlight acts including up to the days of the show themselves you had the the french a400 display which was meant to be dropping the french air force parachute display team and then going into its full a400 display that cancelled on the day due to operational needs.
I mean, there was just a whole string of things, the Invader Council, a whole bunch of stuff.
So going into it, it sort of maybe, before you got to the show, had lost some of its shine.
Some of the real highlights I was looking forward to seeing, knowing they weren't going to happen.
Obviously, it's unfair to judge a show with the things that didn't turn up, and you can only really judge it on what did.
